The Commision
- I was contacted by Cissy Swig of San Francisco, to provide paintings for the Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica. She had seen an exhibition of my work at the San Francisco Art Institute and wanted several of the paintings along with some additional pieces for an installation she was responsible for
Ric
Tringali has been exhibiting and working in the bay
area as a fine artist since the late seventies. Over the years he has
matured as an artist from his early works of paint, pastel and works
on paper, to his human scale geometric paintings of the eighties. Many
of these constructivist paintings are in major collections in the bay
area, and nationally and has been the recipient of many awards for his
fine art as well as his many commercial accomplisments. His commisioned
works of art are on display internationally. The works at the Ritz Carlton,
Dubi atest to his skill at executing works classical realism, and fantasy
art
Education,
He recieved his MFA and BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute, and
studied under many of the bay elite, ie: Ivan Majdrakoff, Tom Holland,
Robert Hudson, Elmer Bishoff, Hassel Smith, Ursula Snieder, Bruce McGaw
to name a few. In addition to his fine arts training, Ricardo Tringali
also studied at the Kendall College of Art & Design, where he recieved
much of his fundamental training, as well as his extiensive background
in techniques and materials. And lastly, at Grand Valley State College,
in the painting department of TJC, Thomas Jefferson College, an experimental
school born in the sixties.

Many of the works seen here on the site, as well as many others, oil
paintings, original art, pastels, prints, portraits, realistic painting,
bronze sculpture, bronze statues, and sculpture, are
either available as original art or in limited editions.
