Pagemaster, Xaos Inc.
The team at Xaos worked together with the folks at Hanna Barbara to
develop the transition segments. The task was to blur the boundary
from the real time film, to the fantasy animated sequence. Working
with the programmers, and animators we developed a metaball technology
in true Xaos style that would morph real time images, into a dripping
live painted pools reminiscent of the Sorcerer's Apprentice.

In the story Richard Tyler is a little boy who is scared of everything.
He doesn't like riding his bike or even climbing on his tree house
because he knows what kind of accidents might happen to him. So one day
he is riding his bike and because it is starting to rain, he decides to
wait in the library until it stops raining. It's there that the whole
story takes place, with the rain even pursuing him into the library,
where fantasy blends with reality.
