Packaging Experience and Responsibilities:

• Creating new packaging designs or techniques utilizing not only corrugated packaging materials, but also materials such as foam, plastic, and wood.
• Cognizant of raw material limitations, but is able to consider the application of new materials to existing business mix. 
• Worked with sales to determine client’s packaging problems and needs.
• Assured that the packaging or display is designed efficiently and compares favorably to competitor’s designs.
• Knowledgeable of contemporary packaging design resolving manufacturing problems or improved package performance, security and durability.
• Capable of obtaining and administering test permits.  Able to follow-up and prepare detail of past shipment testing and recommendations. 
• Constructed and inspect packaging samples for neatness and ensure that the samples are the best possible design for its intended purpose.
• Make formal or informal client presentations with Sales or on their own regarding packaging or display concepts. 
• Receives projects and is able to correctly establish priority of projects on their own. Test or arrange for testing of display/package design to assure proper performance.
• Prepare construction adequate drawings and specifications for the proper manufacturer.
• Maintain a reference file of major trade publications, packaging equipment and suppliers; provide relevant data as required.
• Learn about the automatic packaging equipment used by our customers, as well as the limitations of this equipment.
• Communicate with other packaging designers within all xpedx design centers as well as Packaging Business to learn of new designs or techniques.
• Work with vendors to assure tooling components are correct and materials are available to support customer orders. Participate or lead design project teams as assigned
